When we pick our bulls, we look at percentage and opportunity.  There are many nice bulls in the industry today that have produced some incredible offspring.  We want to see how many cows (percentage) and what type of cows (opportunity) those bulls were bred to in order to produce those incredible offspring.

If a ten year old bull has been used on 50, 75 or 100 head of incredible cows each year, and/or had semen sold on him, (huge opportunity) and has only produced a handful of incredible offspring (small percentage), his bloodlines are not predictable enough for our herd.
